I work as a photographer, performer, producer and website designer and I’m based in Barcelona, Spain. My photography has been published by ARTFORUM, The Guardian, L'Officiel Hommes, T The New York Times Style Magazine, and Vogue, among others. I’ve exhibited at The Abrons Arts Center, Chez Bushwick, Espacio Práctico, The Merce Cunningham Studio, The Spectrum and Théâtre de Vanves.
From 2001-2009 I lived in New York City producing performances at Chez Bushwick, The Center for Performance Research, Danspace Project, The Juilliard School, The Kitchen and The Park Avenue Armory, among others. In 2004 I co-founded the Public Dance Theater at the Juilliard School and in 2006 I co-founded the MAFRIKA African Music Festival in Harlem’s Marcus Garvey Park.
In 2011 I started collaborating with the Choreographer Carlos Maria Romero and in 2013 with Musician Chris Garneau, both of whom I continue to collaborate and tour with.
In 2008 I began assisting Choreographer Trajal Harrell, producing performances and performance exhibitions at Akademie der Künste, Barbican Centre, Centre Pompidou, Grand Duke Jean Museum of Modern Art, Kampnagel, Museum of Modern Art: MoMA and the Palais De Tokyo, among others.
I was born at the Southern Baptist Hospital in downtown New Orleans, Louisiana in 1981 and I started working professionally in the theater when I was 12 with the Fort Worth Shakespeare Festival in Texas. I began dance training at 15 at the Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas and then continued a conservatory training in contemporary performance simultaneously at the University of the North Carolina School of the Arts and the Merce Cunningham Studio in NYC.
